Nikki Yetke
Nikki is pursuing her Master’s in Zoology at the University of Florida studying food web dynamics and American alligators in seasonal wetlands in the southeastern U.S. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology from Boston University and has since spent her time working as a field technician at the J.W. Jones Ecological Research Center, volunteering at animal shelters and sanctuaries, and trying to get her dog into a kayak. Nikki is also interested in predator ecology, ecotoxicology, wildlife conservation, human-wildlife interactions, public engagement and education about predators and conservation, and animal behavior, movement, habitat use, and their influence on ecosystem function. She can’t wait to flood her waders in some Florida/Georgia wetlands and would like to apologize for her inability to take a photo in the field without looking like a goober.

Joshua Benjamin
Joshua Benjamin is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Florida pursuing a Zoology major program. His current research focuses on bioaccumulation of heavy metals by aquatic macroinvertebrates and fishes in the Mara River, Kenya. Joshua completed his BSc in Environmental Studies from Karatina University in Kenya and his joint MSc in Environmental Science with a specialization in limnology and wetland management from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Austria, IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the Netherlands and Egerton University, Kenya. He is also trained in climate change and sustainable development from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran. Joshua is interested in macroinvertebrates taxonomy and ecology, fish ecology, heavy metal concentration, aquatic Food web ecology, Climate Change, Biodiversity Conservation and Community ecology. Joshua also does photography during his free time.

Ella Bayer
Ella is the lab manager for the Subalusky Lab, where she handles the day-to-day administrative and technical needs of the lab. Along with other members, Ella is currently in the process of designing and constructing the experimental stream array using some of the lab’s neat equipment, like the 3D laser printer. She also enjoys practicing her R and GIS skills and working on smaller projects as they arise. Ella completed her BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale and MSc in Environmental and Energy Management with a specialization in Water Governance from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. She’s interested in all things water, ranging from freshwater biogeochemistry to urban hydrology and climate equity.
